I graduated with a Masters Degree in Dance Science from Laban in 2006. Before that I achieved a BA (hons) degree in Dance from Roehampton University. Since then I have also become a qualified teacher in dance, and fitness yoga, seated exercise and a range of other fitness activities. I am a guest lecturer for Dance Institutions and a listed Healthier Dancer Speaker for One Dance UK. With Edel Quin and Sonia Rafferty I am co-author of Safe Dance Practice: An applied dance science perspective and winner of the 2017 One Dance UK Award for inspirational Community Dance Practitioner.

Quin-Final-1 COVERSafe Dance Practice: An applied dance science perspective

After completing my studies I was fortunate to dance with 4motion Dance Theatre for two years before becoming a Lecturer in Dance. Part of my work now is on educating dancers in training to be fit and well enough for their peak performance standard, with a focus on fitness, nutrition and injury prevention.

Of great importance to me is my work in community dance. I am Artistic Director for SideKick Dance a company for dancers with disabilities of all ages. I also run Showtime Dance which is a class for dancers of an older age currently ranging from 55-85. My community dance classes have proved incredibly rewarding and it has been an exciting journey to help, support and witness my participants grow with improved skills, health, and fitness whilst enjoying themselves and achieving great things!

I am an Associate Member of Safe in Dance International (SiDI) and an Assessor and Course Provider for their Healthy Dance Practice Certification.

I also teach Yoga and have a FREE yoga YouTube channel with my wonderful colleague and friend Lindsay Jenkins.
